I was born and raised in rural Wisconsin, where I started my teaching career. I moved to Alaska to take an extended sabbatical from teaching. While there, I fell in love with the mountains, so when it was over I moved to Denver and resumed teaching. Eventually the events that inspired this novel led me to my soul mate. Together we are living in Reno with our princesses where I am teaching, ironically for an online school.
